We are thrilled to announce an exciting development at the Wild Solutions Park: two water buffaloes, named Rapunzel and Schnuffel, from Schönbrunn Zoo in Vienna have recently moved into their temporary new home at the Naturpark Leiserberge! The Wild Solutions Park is a cooperative biodiversity project showcasing how large grazing animals can naturally regenerate former cultural land into a rich ecosystem, monitored scientifically and accessible to visitors.

Next year, these magnificent animals will move to the Wild Solutions Park at the AUSTRIAN WORLD SUMMIT Solutions Hub in Asparn/Zaya in Austria’s Weinviertel region. There, they will become active “landscape gardeners,” helping to reclaim a piece of wilderness.

Diversity Creates Diversity

The Wild Solutions Park will feature various grazing animals, that will naturally shape the landscape without major interventions. This process will create new habitats and valuable structures that will significantly boost biodiversity.

The organization Green Bridge is scientifically monitoring the project area, making the results visible and tangible. With the use of modern technology and AI, we are tracking the transformation of a former field into a vibrant habitat—from soil organisms and plants to insects, birds, and bats.

Experience Nature’s Development

The Wild Solutions Park will be an experience! Visitors will soon be able to observe this natural development firsthand, seeing which measures effectively promote biodiversity. This project is a powerful demonstration of how our cultural landscape was shaped by large grazing animals—and how it can be regenerated today.

We are proud to collaborate with our Wild Solutions Park partners:

  • MAMUZ Urgeschichtsmuseum Asparn
  • Green Bridge GmbH
