Global Leaders & Changemakers Gather in Vienna
We are excited to announce the first distinguished guests joining us at the AUSTRIAN WORLD SUMMIT 2025 on June 3 at the Hofburg Congress Center, Vienna.
Speakers & Special Guests:
Arnold Schwarzenegger – as host and speaker, Arnold Schwarzenegger will once again bring together leaders, changemakers, and visionaries to drive real climate action. His message is clear: “Unite in Action – Terminate Pollution.”
Austrian Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen – Opening the Summit with a speech on Austria’s role and responsibility in an ever-changing world. He will highlight the importance of commitment,cooperation, and shared values in shaping a sustainable and resilient future.
António Guterres – The UN Secretary-General will deliver a special welcome message, highlighting the need for united action in an increasingly polarized world. His message will underscore the power of collective efforts to safeguard our future.
Rainn Wilson – Actor, author, and climate activist. Known for his role in The Office, Wilson is also a passionate environmental advocate. He co-founded SoulPancake, a media company that promotes positive social change, and is actively involved with Arctic Basecamp. Founded by Professor Gail Whiteman, their mission is to “speak science to power,” inspiring bold climate action through unique communications and direct engagement with global leaders from business, policy, and civil society.
We are excited to welcome Müge Baltacӏ, founder of mol-e, whose innovative start-up is tackling the growing challenge of electronic waste in companies. Joining her is Julia Bialetska, whose company s.lab is revolutionizing sustainable packaging by transforming agricultural waste and mushroom mycelium into eco-friendly alternatives.
Dominic Thiem – Former tennis champion and sustainability advocate. In 2024, Thiem launched Thiem Energy, a renewable energy platform aimed at reducing electricity costs through 100% Austrian-produced sustainable power. His commitment to environmental initiatives brings a unique perspective to our Summit.
Valerie Huber – Actress, activist, and author. Best known for her work in film and TV, Huber is also a UNICEF Honorary Ambassador advocating for climate justice and social equality. In 2025, she published the bestseller”Fomo Sapiens – Verpassen wir die heile Welt?”. At AWS 2025, she will speak directly to our young students, inspiring them to take action for a sustainable future.
Benji Backer – Founder of Nature Is Nonpartisan, a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering bipartisan environmental dialogue. Backer is also author of the best-selling book “The Conservative Environmentalist”. His efforts aim to redefine environmentalism beyond political boundaries.
