Event unites global leaders to harness communication, innovation, and nature for effective climate solutions
Vienna / New York
How can the three Climate Superpowers—communication, technological innovation, and the power of nature—drive bold action to protect our planet?
This question took center stage at a high-level event during New York Climate Week, co-hosted by the Tony Blair Institute (TBI), the Schwarzenegger Climate Initiative (SCI), and the Schwarzenegger Institute at the University of Southern California (USC). The event gathered top global experts, policymakers, and innovators in Midtown Manhattan to develop practical strategies for tackling the climate crisis.
The event coincided with the 80th United Nations General Assembly, where world leaders convened in New York to address today’s most urgent global challenges.
The climate crisis remains one of the most pressing and complex issues of our time—demanding collective action and decisive leadership.
A Call for Action – Not Words
During a roundtable session, participants explored ways to leverage the three Climate Superpowers to accelerate real-world progress. In front of an audience of around 150 guests, these strategies were presented and discussed in depth.
“We gotta move forward, we gotta do it differently than we have done it in the past. There is a new way we have to go!”, said Arnold Schwarzenegger, founder of the Schwarzenegger Climate Initiative. You do it by taking action that improves their lives – now. For too long, climate communication has been dominated by fear and doom, messages that paralyze rather than inspire. At the SCI, we focus on solutions and hope. Change isn’t easy – but doing nothing is not an option.
Building Bridges for a Sustainable Future
The Schwarzenegger Climate Initiative’s mission is to bring people together across sectors to drive forward impactful climate action.
The New York event demonstrated what is possible when politics, business, and civil society join forces and apply the right tools to implement sustainable solutions.
