Federal Minister Norbert Totschnig, born in June 1974 in Lienz, Austria, grew up with six siblings on a farm in East Tyrol. Federal Minister Totschnig has 20 years of experience in federal and agricultural policy. As a bridge-builder he knows how to bring together economic, environmental and socio-political interests. A future-oriented and balancing approach has characterised his work in politics over the past 20 years. On 18 May 2022, he was sworn in as Federal Minister. The areas of responsibility of the Minister include agriculture, forestry, climate and environment, water management and regions, including cohesion policy.
