Eco Champion
SOS-Kinderdörfer weltweit
Saara Hango is a passionate and driven individual from Namibia, with strong ties to Angola. She recently graduated with a Certificate in Entrepreneurial Studies from the University of Johannesburg and is currently pursuing a Bachelor Honors in Education. Throughout her life, Saara has been dedicated to bringing about positive change, both within and outside the climate space.
As an EcoChampion of SOS-Kinderdörfer weltweit, Saara is committed to addressing the impacts of climate change, particularly in her community, where women and children often face vulnerabilities due to decades of inequality. Her initiative focuses on combating the effects of climate change by revitalizing degraded lands through sustainable farming practices. With expertise in entrepreneurship, Saara aims to empower local farmers through regenerative techniques such as crop rotation, over cropping, and agroforestry.
Saara’s work seeks to restore soil health, increase biodiversity, and improve water retention, thereby enhancing food security for future generations. Despite facing challenges, including inconsistent rainfall and the need to register her initiative, Saara remains motivated by the support of mentors and stakeholders and is steadily building the foundation for her project.
