The Story
Driving bans, rising fuel costs, and increasing repair expenses are significant factors encouraging commuters to switch to e-mobility. New electric cars are expensive, and purchasing them does not solve the environmental problem — old vehicles are exported and continue to be used. e-R3VOLT offers a more sustainable solution by converting existing vehicles to electric drives. This reduces CO₂ emissions, avoids resource-intensive new production, and makes electric mobility affordable. At the same time, trust in the used e-car market is lacking. Retrofit technologies bridge this gap: they extend the lifespan of existing vehicles, integrate bidirectional charging and digital maintenance — a circular economy solution that convinces ecologically, economically, and socially.
Success Factor | Hero Moment
The pivotal success factor was the confirmation of e-R3VOLT patents, highlighting the technological uniqueness and scalable innovation of the company’s approach. The road approval of their prototype demonstrated its practical viability, fostering trust among workshops and partner companies. Participation in the IAA Mobility increased their visibility, attracting attention from industry leaders. Support from Herbert Diess, former CEO of Volkswagen AG, added credibility to their endeavor and opened doors to valuable networks.
