This week, the Schwarzenegger Climate Initiative has the privilege of being part of the Climate Week NYC, which takes place alongside the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
On September 21, SCI-Director Monika Langthaler attended #UnstoppableAfrica, an inspiring event that highlighted Africa’s pivotal role in shaping a sustainable future. Leaders from government, business, and civil society – including Austrian Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen – shared their bold visions for a green industrial revolution, showing how climate action and economic opportunity can go hand in hand.
The participants were particularly inspired by the practical solutions presented – from renewable energy and sustainable financing to innovations that are already transforming communities across the continent.
We leave this event energized and optimistic. Africa’s unstoppable momentum is a powerful reminder that global collaboration is essential to create meaningful, lasting change – for both people and and a healthy planet.
