Converting captured CO2 into future-proof materials

Project Dates

Start: 2021

The Story

Paebbl’s proprietary technology converts captured CO₂ into future-proof materials, via accelerated mineralisation, locking the carbon into a permanent, stable mineral form. This carbon-storing product serves as a valuable supplementary cementitious material for the construction industry.
Unlike conventional cement manufacturing, which emits CO₂, Paebbl’s process uses it as an input in an energy-efficient process, fundamentally reversing the environmental impact of the building industry.
The company’s demo plant, located in Rotterdam, is set to become the world’s fastest continuous production facility of its kind. What takes the planet thousands of years takes Paebbl one hour.

Success Factor | Hero Moment

Two moments stand out:

Series A – raising such a sum of money from global investors and companies of note served as a proof point that the technology was scalable and the product had buy-in from key industry figures.

Secondly, unveiling the Demo Centre in Spring 2025, a 20x scaling achievement. Prior to the Demo Centre Paebbl had already scaled 100x in its first two years of operations.

As an organsation Paebbl moves swiftly and decisively.
