Birgit Mitter

Birgit Mitter is a microbiologist with a PhD from the Graz University of Technology and over 20 years of research experience. Before co-founding Ensemo in 2021, she studied plant microbiomes at the Austrian Institute of Technology, leading both fundamental and industry-driven projects. Her scientific track record includes 5 patents and more than 60 peer-reviewed publications. At Ensemo, Birgit is bridging the gap between lab-scale science and industrial application by developing a breakthrough seed-treatment technology. Her mission is to enable the large-scale use of natural microbial solutions as a sustainable alternative to agrochemicals in global agriculture.
