Sebastian Ströbel

Actor

Sebastian Ströbel was born in 1977 and grew up in Ravensburg, Wuppertal and Karlsruhe. After graduating from high school, he trained as an actor at the Mozarteum in Salzburg. He made his debut in front of the camera in 1998 alongside Tobias Moretti in “Kommissar Rex”. Since then, he has appeared in numerous TV and cinema productions and series, including as the lead actor in the series “Powder Park” (2001-2009) and “Countdown – The Hunt Begins” (2010-2012). His penchant for action and the mountains was evident from an early age, so the role of “Markus Kofler” in the ZDF series “Die Bergretter” was a real stroke of luck for him. Since 2014, he has played the head of the Ramsau mountain rescue team, where he shows great physicality and emotionality. In the summer of 2023, he undertook a moving expedition through the Alps with a TV team for the two-part TERRA X documentary “Sebastian Ströbel – Meine Alpen” (“Sebastian Ströbel – My Alps”), bringing viewers closer to the beauty but also the traces of climate change in a haunting way. Sebastian Ströbel lives in Hamburg with his wife and four daughters and is a die-hard and avowed fan of the soccer club 1. FC Nürnberg.
