Since 2012 Prof. Anders Leverman first headed the research department on Sustainable solutions and is now the Head of Complexity Science at Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK). The PIK is a German government-funded research institute addressing crucial scientific questions in the fields of global change, climate impacts, and sustainable development. It is considered one of the top 5 environmental think tank worldwide and one of the leading research institutions working on questions of global environmental change. Since 2007 Anders Levermann has also been a Physics Professor of Dynamics of the Climate System at the Physics Institute of Potsdam University, Germany. He has been involved in the assessment report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change since 2004 and advises political and economic stakeholders on the issue of climate change. Since 2021 he has been acting as a Strategic Advisor to UN-convened Net-Zero Asset Owner Alliance for net-zero carbon emission strategy for asset of more than 10 trillion $US
