Leonore Gewessler

Since January 2020, Leonore Gewessler has been the Federal Minister for Climate, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation, and Technology in Austria. During her service, the KlimaTicket was introduced as an inexpensive annual ticket for all means of public transport throughout Austria. In 2023, she was ranked third in Politico’s Green 28 Visionary list. From 2014 to 2019, Leonore Gewessler served as the Executive Director of Global 2000, an Austrian environmental protection organisation. Before that, she had been the Director of the Green European Foundation asbl in Brussels, Belgium.
